Silk sand

It is the positive I aim to represent, in a world not always perfect.

I desire to paint the dream, and for the viewer to see that I’m playing with light, colour and the crazy nature of watercolour.

I spend a lot of time on the NSW Central Coast, and a lot of my thinking on the way colour works at the beach.  I stare and stare at the white foam that isn’t really white.  I study the blue that is analogy in flow. I marvel at sand that is everything from a dry fine to a glassy mirror.  So it is with much anticipation that I present the painting, ‘Silk Sand.’

The beach at Copacabana is always changing.  I hope you can see the rich colours that inhabit the reflections on the day of ‘Silk Sand’.  The day was as beautiful as the pleasure of the performance.
